A Remarkable red mottled sand stone head of Buddha ( the Gautama ), Kushan/Gupta period circa: 100-500A.D, from North-west of Pakistan/ ancient India. well carved with a gently rounded face in a serene expression, downcast lidded eyes beneath arched brows and an aquiline nose, the ears with long pierced lobes , the hair arranged in rows of tight curls surmounted by a topknot.Height= 18cm ( With the hard wood custom stand height=24.5cm ), Weight= 3.2kg (Net), Condition= Very fine, no repairings or restoration-( see pictures for more details ).
